This role is for a Business Analyst supporting the Information Technology Department in a large, complex local government organization. The primary responsibility is to assist in the implementation of a large-scale application system by collaborating with a team of analysts and vendor partners. The ideal candidate must reside in South Florida .
The position requires active engagement throughout the project lifecycle , focusing on understanding business processes and requirements to successfully implement a vendor-provided application solution.
Required Experience:Strong experience working on complex IT software projects in large organizations using Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
Proficient in gathering and documenting business requirements and processes.
Hands-on experience with business analysis in complex software implementations and integrated software solutions .
Skilled in data analysis using tools like Power BI and Excel .
Knowledge of data management and infrastructure .
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Translate business needs into User Stories , technical specifications, and system designs.
Work closely with stakeholders via interviews, workshops, and meetings to gather accurate and detailed requirements.
Collaborate with technical teams to design effective solutions aligned with business objectives.
Evaluate and document existing business processes.
Identify opportunities for improvement and recommend changes to enhance efficiency and productivity .
Analyze complex data sets to provide actionable insights.
Support strategic decision-making for software integration and architecture.
Familiarity with SQL , data models , ETL , and Microsoft Office applications.
Participate in system testing , including functional, integration, and user acceptance testing.
Support the creation and execution of test plans and test cases .
Manage business analysis tasks within Agile and Waterfall projects.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
Engage in vendor management , including organizing demos and supervising implementations.
Assist in preparing impact assessments , user training materials, and transition support.
Support end-users during system go-lives and stabilization periods.
Act as a liaison between business users, technical teams, and project managers.
Provide regular updates , status reports, and presentations to stakeholders.
Evaluate post-implementation performance and identify enhancement opportunities.
Recommend improvements to optimize system usability and effectiveness .
Identify, document, and help mitigate risks and issues.
Escalate critical issues promptly to ensure resolution.
Bachelor's Degree required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in software implementation and business process analysis.
Additional relevant work experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis .
