Kiddom’s high-quality curriculum is layered with robust teacher and leader data insights to drive the continuous improvement of instructional decisions, school/district programming, and professional learning.

As Kiddom’s first dedicated legal counsel, you will use your deep understanding of legal contracts and organizational partnerships to support and protect our rapidly growing business. Reporting to the VP of Strategy and Operations, this individual will collaborate across departments, and ultimately be responsible for:

Responsibilities:
  • Drafting & Reviewing Agreements: Creating, reviewing, and refining legal documents, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with company goals
  • Negotiation Support: Collaborating in negotiations, protecting and enforcing the company’s interests
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensuring Kiddom is set up to comply with relevant commercial, transactional, and privacy laws & regulations
  • Risk Assessment: Identifying potential legal risks and proposing practical solutions to mitigate them
  • Process Improvement: Developing standard templates and streamlining processes for recurring legal needs to enhance consistency and scalability

This role will interface directly with Counsel representing clients, partners, and vendors.

Who you are...
  • You have demonstrated success working across a wide range of legal matters, including oversight for all corporate reporting and obligations, and corporate governance experience (including management of board and committee).
  • You’re an excellent oral and written communicator, able to synthesize and present complex ideas simply and understandably to employees at all levels, as well as the executive team and the Board.
  • Your strong negotiation skills are balanced with an above-average business acumen, informing your legal recommendations.
  • You have deep experience drafting and negotiating a wide range of top-priority commercial agreements.
  • You have provided legal support for sales organizations at scale. You work autonomously and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
  • You have a proven ability to balance legal risk and business objectives.

$160,000 - $200,000 a year

Salary range is dependent on geography, past experience, seniority, and demonstrated role-related ability during the interview process.

What we offer

We are a passionate, collaborative team focused on building transformative education technology and making a measurable impact in K-12 education.

Full-time permanent employees are eligible for the following benefits from their first day:

  • Competitive salary
  • Meaningful equity
  • Health benefits: medical (various PPO/HMO/HSA plans), dental, vision, disability and life insurance
  • 10 paid sick days per year
  • Unlimited vacation time policy (subject to internal approval). Average use 4 weeks off per year.
  • Paid family leave after birth/adoption of caretakers and minimum of 16 paid weeks for birthing parents. Meant to supplement benefits offered by State.
