Job Summary

Position is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering a rapid response aero-medical team via Life Flight helicopters and for transporting patients to appropriate facilities for further treatment under VFR and IFR.

Join our pioneering helicopter air ambulance company and fly the state-of-the-art Airbus H145D3 helicopters, designed for optimal medical transport efficiency. Minimum Qualifications

Education: None

Licenses/Certifications:

• Commercial, Instrument, Helicopter License
• Second Class FAA Medical Certificate required; First Class FAA Medical Certificate preferred
• Passed the Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) written test

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

• 2000 hours Pilot-in-Command of a turbine helicopter required; 3000 hours preferred
• 200 hours of night helicopter PIC experience required; 300 hours preferred
• 75 hours Helicopter IFR required; 100 hours preferred
• SPIFR experience preferred

Principal Accountabilities

• Maintains standby readiness to ensure rapid response times.
• Operates emergency air ambulance transport service following FAA, hospital, and department policies.
• Performs all flight procedures for safe, efficient medical transport.
• Performs non-medical refueling, test, public relations, and crew orientation flights.
• Maintains communication with Flight Operations during missions.
• Inspects aircraft systems and reviews aircraft records for pre-flight checks.
• Completes necessary forms, records, and logs.
• Stays current on federal regulations and prepares for semi-annual FAA tests.
• Travels to satellite bases as needed.
• Attends departmental and pilot meetings.
• Ensures aircraft and workplace cleanliness.
• Ensures safe patient and staff care, adhering to policies and standards.
• Supports professional growth and development, and serves as a mentor.
• Models Memorial Hermann’s service standards by providing compassionate, safe, and personalized care.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
