Materials Acceptance and Certification (MAC) System Administrator Database Specialist

• This advanced level position involves technical responsibilities associated with database applications in the highway materials acceptance and certification program. The role entails maintaining specific aspects of the MAC system and executing advanced database functions. It requires a highly motivated and organized individual capable of creating customized entries while maintaining consistency across materials and associated technical areas. The successful candidate will operate within the Materials Program Performance Section.

Key responsibilities include:

• Proactively updating and enhancing the MAC standard reporting capabilities, while also automating the process of integrating MAC data with customer-facing dashboards.
• Developing on-demand end-user reports, performing data processing with appropriate software, and preparing detailed engineering reports based on findings.
• Vetting end-user reports generated by other SMO report writers for optimization, accuracy, and policy compliance, and publishing new and revised reports to the MAC Report page.
• Troubleshooting issues related to data, uploads, and application programming.
• Developing and maintaining programming for SMO's Application Program Interface (API) with MAC.
• Programming enhancements to MAC in compliance with the Office of Information Technology's application development standards.
• Managing FDOT Service Desk tickets pertaining to MAC.
• Assessing MAC access requests and ensuring they are processed by the appropriate District Application Coordinator.
• Requiring at least two years of direct experience with Department or comparable database programs.
• Demonstrating strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Having experience in data entry and quality review.
• Possessing specific computer skills in Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Exhibiting technical writing skills.
• Being able to multi-task and work well both in teams and independently to meet common goals.
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
