The Medical Assistant functions as an important member of the healthcare team by providing basic clinical, clerical, and technical support to assist providers in planning for patients’ care, comfort, and safety. The Medical Assistant performs in a manner consistent with Marshfield Clinic’s mission, policies, and initiatives while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Work shift is Monday 6:45 am - 5:00 pm; Tuesday 6:45 am - 8:00 pm; Wednesday 6:45 am - 5:00 pm; and Thursday 6:45 am - 2:30 pm (4 days per week). Minimum qualifications include graduation from a Medical Assistant program or documented successful completion of required courses in Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, and Pharmacology, or two years of Medical Assistant-related work experience with completion of required courses within 12 months from hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association (AHA) is required within three months of hire. Alternatively, Certified Medical Assistant candidates must have a Medical Assistant program graduation or Licensed Practical Nurse diploma, with no minimum experience required. Certifications required include BLS and one of the following: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from AAMA, Registered Medical Assistant from AMT or ARMA, Licensed Practical Nurse license in Wisconsin or equivalent, or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
