Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 4 years of motion design experience in product design, UX design, or UX/UI animation. Experience with motion design related to physics, patterns, and visual design elements. Preferred qualifications: Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 2 years of experience working in a cross-functional organization. As a Motion Designer, you’ll apply your passion for animation to simplify complex interactions and solve challenging design problems. You’ll help define and implement Google’s motion design language and you’ll think critically about how motion reinforces Google’s UX brand, enhances interactivity, and delights our users. In this role, you will be part of the Design System team for the Google Search App. The team works to establish and drive adoption of a sustainable system for design and implementation that enables cross-functional teams to deliver and maintain a high-quality Search user experience. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners across the organization to help positive experiences scale across web and native mobile platforms. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $129,000-$185,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities Define and implement Google products through motion design. Provide patterns, best practices and guidance on animation and transitions for different devices (e.g., TV, tablets, wearables, mobile, etc.) and platforms (e.g., Android, iOS, etc.). Create high quality design proposals and drive projects from concept to iterations and implementation. Collaborate across functional teams contributing to key projects, ensuring a holistic systems-thinking approach, and advocating for user needs.
