NetSuite Operations Manager
Overview
Our client in the manufacturing sector has recently implemented NetSuite and are now preparing to hire a NetSuite Operations Manager to lead process improvement efforts relating to BOM set up, MRP and Inventory Management. This role will also hold full responsibility around supply chain lifecycle management. Ideally this candidate will have prior experience with NetSuite Order to Cash, WMS and Demand Planning modules. Additionally, you will be able to gain experience to NetSuite Administration and reporting optimization.
Key Responsibilities
NetSuite Operations Ownership
You will be responsible for all materials-related functions within NetSuite, ensuring operations across planning, procurement, inventory, production, and fulfillment.
Detailed Scope of NetSuite Responsibility:
- Demand & Supply Planning
- Create and manage demand forecasts and supply plans directly in NetSuite.
- Translate forecasts into actionable procurement and production signals.
- Ensure planning parameters (e.g., lead times, reorder points, safety stock) are accurate and optimized.
- Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
- Analyze suggested orders and production schedules, adjusting logic based on actual demand, constraints, and BOM structure.
- Act as the NetSuite MRP subject matter expert, validating outputs and ensuring planning integrity.
- Inventory & Warehouse Management
- Oversee day-to-day inventory control, including lot number tracking, bin transfers, and cycle counts.
- Configure and manage item records, locations, units of measure, and inventory statuses.
- Support physical inventory and reconciliation processes using NetSuite tools and reports.
- Production / BOM Assembly
- Build and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and work order structures within NetSuite.
- Create, release, and complete work orders for internal assembly or outsourced processing.
- Ensure proper consumption of components, labor, and overhead, validating cost roll-ups in the system.
- Order Fulfillment, Shipping, and Logistics
- Manage the end-to-end fulfillment process within NetSuite — from sales order release to shipment confirmation — ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
- Coordinate pick/pack/ship workflows, including carrier integration (FedEx, DHL, etc.), shipping cost allocation, and tracking updates.
- Oversee both standard customer shipments and product sample dispatches, ensuring sample orders are prioritized, properly coded, and tracked distinctly from commercial orders.
- Maintain fulfillment accuracy, proactively resolve exceptions (e.g., backorders, partial shipments), and monitor warehouse execution through NetSuite’s fulfillment dashboards.
- Configure fulfillment rules, preferred shipping methods, and distribution logic for different order types (e.g., commercial, sampling, internal R&D).
- Customer Order Management, Invoicing, and Product Sampling
- Manage the customer order lifecycle in NetSuite: order entry, order review, release to fulfillment, and invoicing.
- Ensure timely and accurate invoice generation tied to fulfillment events or contractual billing terms.
- Track order status, proactively communicate delays or delivery updates, and support customer service on order-related queries.
- Set up and manage customer records, pricing tiers, and credit terms in NetSuite.
- Handle product sampling workflows , including:
- Creating and managing sample orders in NetSuite with distinct item codes or classifications.
- Coordinating internal approvals and tracking for sample distribution.
- Ensuring sample shipments are logged, tracked, and not conflated with commercial sales in reporting or financial analysis.
- Work closely with finance and sales to ensure clean reconciliation of invoice statuses, returns, and adjustments (e.g., credit memos for samples or test shipments
Ideal Requirements
- Operational Leader: Proven ability to manage the full materials lifecycle—from purchasing and receiving through production and invoicing.
- Technical Acumen: Proficient in developing workflows, saved searches, and custom reports within NetSuite.
- Strong Communicator: Able to work cross-functionally and communicate clearly across teams.
- Experienced NetSuite User: 3–5+ years of hands-on NetSuite experience, ideally in a manufacturing setting
Preferred Qualifications
- NetSuite certification(s)
- Experience with NetSuite Advanced Manufacturing or WMS
- Familiarity with accounting principles and integration of operational and financial modules
- Background in supply chain, operations, business systems, or ERP implementation
