We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mobile Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. As a Mobile Phlebotomist, you will travel to various patient locations to collect blood samples for laboratory testing. You will be responsible for performing venipunctures, ensuring proper specimen handling, and providing excellent customer service in the comfort of patients' homes. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform venipunctures and capillary draws to collect blood samples from patients in their homes/residences.
  • Verify patient identification and ensure all necessary paperwork and consent forms are completed accurately.
  • Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and transportation of specimens to a FedEx drop off location in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-equipped mobile phlebotomy unit.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including infection control standards.
  • Record patient information accurately in electronic health records or paper forms.
  • Provide excellent patient care by explaining the procedure and addressing any concerns or anxieties.
  • Follow established protocols for specimen handling and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with lab standards.
  • Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor when interacting with patients, healthcare professionals, and other team members.
  • Manage a schedule of appointments and travel to various patient locations efficiently.
  • Stay updated on relevant industry standards and best practices in phlebotomy.

Pay:

  • $30 per successful draw (including 25 mi round trip between patient residence and examiner’s home). Sample must be dropped off at a FedEx location. Additional mileage reimbursement after 25 miles, per IRS business rate, where applicable.
  • Contractor must own a centrifuge and provide required phlebotomy collection supplies, for example: needle, gauze, gloves, tourniquet, alcohol wipes etc.)
  • Flexible scheduling (must be available Monday – Thursday between 7 AM and 3 PM) Weekends Off
  • Potential for growth.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program.
  • Current Phlebotomy Certification (e.g., from the American Society for Clinical Pathology [ASCP], National Phlebotomy Association [NPA], or similar certification body).
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with insurance.
  • Two years or more of current/recent experience in phlebotomy, preferably in a mobile or home healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of blood collection techniques, safety protocols, and specimen handling procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients of varying ages and backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
  • Background check may be required.

Working Conditions:

  • 1099 Contractor Opportunity
  • Travel to various patient locations, which may include residential homes/apartments, assisted living facilities, and outpatient clinics.
  • Must be comfortable working independently in a variety of environments.
