Job Description

Oline Construction, a dynamic and growing general contracting company, is offering an exceptional summer internship for those eager to gain hands-on experience in multi-million-dollar projects in commercial construction. With offices in Dallas-Fort Worth, TX, and Omaha, NE, Oline Construction is involved in a wide range of construction projects, including hotels, mixed-use developments, commercial buildings, and more. This is your chance to work alongside experienced professionals and get a behind-the-scenes look at all aspects of the industry.

Why Oline Construction? With us, you’ll be part of a team that encourages growth, provides mentorship, and gives you the tools and exposure you need to build a successful career in construction. If you are ready to elevate your knowledge in a supportive, fast-paced, and hands-on environment, this internship is the perfect opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist on job sites and provide support to project teams, working closely with Project Managers and Superintendents.
  • Walk job sites with Project Managers and Superintendents to monitor progress, safety, and quality, ensuring safety standards are consistently met.
  • Assist in estimating materials costs, labor costs, and other costs associated with the project.
  • Assist the construction team in managing, processing, and tracking submittals, RFIs, Change Order Requests (CORs), pricing change orders (COs), subcontracts, and logs.
  • Help manage the project permit process.
  • Review the document control process by distributing electronic and paper plans, reviewing and approving shop drawings and submittals, specifications, drawings, permits, etc., to appropriate parties, and maintaining the drawing revision logs.
  • Monitor, measure, inspect, and report scope on work completed in the field.
  • Support coordination and communication across active projects.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Current student working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a similar degree, or relevant work experience.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Proficient with technologies and applications used in business and on construction sites, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, SharePoint, & Outlook), and other current construction management software such as AutoDesk Construction Cloud (AutoCAD, Build, ProEst, Takeoff, Assemble, BIM360), Primavera, BlueBeam, Procore, or similar.
  • Strong interest in construction and hands-on work.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, field-focused environment.
  • Enthusiastic, reliable, and ready to contribute to the team.

What You’ll Gain: This is not a typical “sit-at-a-desk” internship. At Oline Construction, you’ll be working side by side with seasoned professionals at headquarters and in the field, gaining firsthand experience and understanding of the entire construction process. You’ll have the unique opportunity to contribute to significant projects and learn how multi-million-dollar developments come to life. This internship is an ideal stepping stone for students who want to accelerate their careers in commercial construction, project management, or estimating.

Apply today to join the Oline Construction team!
