Job Description

Position Summary: The Supervisor must be highly interactive and strive for continuous improvement consistently, professionally motivate the team and work with and directly report to management. The supervisor is second in command and must demonstrate sound decision making, independently diligent, as well as establish their presence as a leader and provide oversight of operations throughout the warehouse and plant. The supervisor meets all other prior tiers requirements.

Responsibilities and duties:

· Must follow all employee safety, food safety, quality procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear required PPE while on duty.

· Maintain a sense of urgency throughout assigned shift during a fast pace, multitasking skill set environment.

· Call down product using the JBT software.

· Load trailers with the correct product in corresponding load patterns.

· Record batch codes for corresponding items on shipment pick lists.

· AGV Error correction with a consistent sense of urgency to resolve safely and promptly.

· Respond to Lantech, and conveyor alarms in a timely and safe fashion.

· Ensure the product is not damaged, leaking, or badly stacked before loading on to the trailer.

· Restack any badly stacked pallets before loading them on to the trailer.

· Replace any damaged or leaking cases. If the pallet/cases are excessively damaged or leaking, place it in the designated area for QC inspection, place a sign on the pallet, and notify your Supervisor.

· Unload a trailer and ensure all product listed matches what is on the provided paperwork, verify the B.O.L.

· Put away unloaded product in the appropriate designated areas.

· Sign in & Sign out drivers, recording all pertinent information on the sign in/out sheet, shipment pick list, and AX appointment scheduler.

· Check out a driver in AX and ensure the driver has the correct and appropriate paperwork, with a seal, before leaving the yard.

· Receive materials systematically in AX.

· Ability to manage the warehouse office along with truck loading responsibilities independently for as long as necessary.

· Ability to complete individually assigned responsibilities independently and as a team.

· Proficient with the emergency communication protocols.

· Responsible of training and guiding new team members in ALL aspects of the responsibilities and duties of the department.

· Proficient with AX functions and uses for shipping and receiving.

· Provide reporting of various daily operations.

· Provide coverage for the Manager during PTO.

· Can provide production materials support when the receiver is not present. Cover the receiver’s role completely during PTO.

· Ensure all team members are are following work safety, food safety, quality procedures, GMPs and GWP’s.

· Conducting direct report (s) 30/60/80 day and annual reviews.

· Provide support across all shifts in daily task completion throughout the warehouse.

· Ensure efficient and consistent communication for shift handoffs.

· Develop, train and mentor each direct report on your team to ensure, GPI and its customer’s Food Safety and Product Quality standards are recognized, maintained and followed.

· Can coordinate responsibilities between shipping and receiving sides of the warehouse.

· Can cover any job if necessary, on the shipping and receiving sides of the warehouse.

 

Physical Requirements, Work Environment:

· Capable of lifting, walking, and on-and-off of forklifts, for extended periods of time.

· Ability to lift 50-75 pounds of product or materials

· Ability to distinguish color, SKUs, and lot codes; capable to hear audible alarms and distinguish different notifications for identifying faults occurring on equipment and capable of the resolution.

· Ability to communicate issues verbally and in written form, via email communications and filling out required paperwork.

· Capable of supervising a team of four to five direct reports in a fast paced, high pressure environment.

· Adept computer skills including, but not limited to, email communication and utilize WMS & ERP systems, Excel.

· Capable of quickly learning new software, tasks, and train direct reports as process’s are developed and implemented with the department manager or as directed by the department manager.

· Ability to investigate to identify root causes, trouble shoot, develop and resolve issues to report to the department manager accordingly.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

· A minimum of 4 to 5 years of certified forklift and warehouse job experience.

· A minimum of 2 to 3 years of lead experience.

· High School Diploma or equivalent required.

· Legally authorized to work in the United States.
