Overview

Client is the world’s leading biology research service company, and our business is growing. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Sr. Shipping Manager to join our team. As a Shipping Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing company's overall logistics strategy and operations in order to maximize the process efficiency and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Be the key contact and subject matter expert (SME) to ensure alignment with organizational goals and process development in life science/ biological filed.
  • Lead shipping Department’s automation and optimization projects including identifying process bottleneck and implementing solutions for process improvements.
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of transportation including inbound logistics, internal transfers, and outbound shipping.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to provide an effective supply chain.
  • Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle to ensure PO’s are scheduled timely for inbound receipt and carriers are dispatched on time and all orders are sorted and delivered accurately based on selected shipping method.
  • Develops policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety.
  • Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics to ensure achieving KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Risk management and uphold satisfactory service quality including reducing/preventing human error.
  • Develop and oversee the operational budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to drive cost reduction and service improvement.
  • CBP and PGA regulation knowledge is a preference.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with 3PL providers and internal stakeholders to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration across all shipping functions.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years as a Shipping/Logistics Manager with team development experience
  • Experienced and can provide good track records of logistics team transformation and automation projects.
  • Excellent analytical and presentation skill using MS Excel, Access or Power BI.
  • BA or MS in supply chain, logistics or similar relevant field.
  • Critical thinker and problem- solving skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Regulatory Certificate or License such as Certified Customs Specialist (CCS), Customs Broker License, Certified Export Specialist (CES) is a preference
  • Operational APICS certificate such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD) or Certified in Transformation for Supply Chain (CTSC) is a PLUS
