Invisalign takes a totally different approach: Rather than traditional metal or plastic bands, a mold is created of the teeth and a full set of aligners are created that slip over the teeth, and encourage straightening. These aligners are made of clear plastic which is virtually invisible, and without any of the discomfort or speech problems caused by traditional metal\plastic braces. Plus, they can even be briefly removed to allow normal teeth-brushing!
